Turn off sharing to the fediverse on Threads
Our Beta experience for sharing to the fediverse is currently only available to Threads profiles in certain areas.
When someone turns on sharing to the fediverse, users on other servers can search for and follow their Threads profile, view their Threads posts, and interact with and share their Threads content with anyone on or off another fediverse server. Learn more about Threads and the fediverse.
When someone turns on sharing to the fediverse, users on other servers can search for and follow their Threads profile, view their Threads posts, and interact with and share their Threads content with anyone on or off another fediverse server. Learn more about Threads and the fediverse.
When you turn off sharing to the fediverse, we’ll request that other servers in the fediverse delete your Threads profile and content from their servers. We cannot guarantee that they will delete your information, and it may remain publicly visible despite your decision to turn off sharing. Turning off sharing to the fediverse won’t delete your profile or posts from Threads.
Turn off sharing to the fediverse
Threads app for Android and iPhone- Tap
or your profile picture in the bottom right to go to your profile.
- Tap
in the top right.
- Tap Account, then tap Fediverse sharing.
- Tap Turn off sharing at the bottom.
- Review the prompt, then tap Ok.
Keep in mind that if you deactivate or delete your Threads profile, or switch your Threads profile from public to private, we also will turn off sharing to the fediverse from your profile.
You can turn on sharing to the fediverse again after 30 days from when you first turned sharing off.
