Avoid the Apple service charge by boosting on instagram.com
Starting February 2024, when you boost in the Instagram iOS app, you will be billed through Apple, and this is where Apple will retain a 30% service charge on the total ad payment, less any applicable taxes. This service charge is retained by Apple, not Instagram or Meta.
How to avoid Apple service charges
Once you boost your content from instagram.com, Meta Ads Manager or Meta Business Suite, your ad will be delivered to your audience in the same way as when boosting from the Instagram app.
  • Boost content from instagram.com. Boost content or add funds without the Apple service charge on instagram.com using your computer or preferred mobile web browser. Boosting on instagram.com has the same features as boosting from the app.
  • Add prepaid funds to your ad account from payment settings using your computer or preferred mobile web browser. Use these prepaid funds to boost on the Instagram iOS app without incurring fees. Learn more about prepaid funds.
  • Boost content from Meta Business Suite. Download the app or visit Meta Business Suite from a computer to manage content across surfaces and boost content without paying the Apple service charge.
  • Create ads from Meta Ads Manager. Download the app or visit Ads Manager from a computer to create ads without paying the Apple service charge.
