Ask questions about products using Questions & Answers
This feature isn’t available to everyone at this time.
You can use Questions & Answers to ask questions about products sold by shops on Instagram.
Ask questions using Questions & Answers
To ask a question using Questions & Answers:
- Go to the profile of a shop in the Instagram app.
- Tap a product to view the product page.
- Scroll down to Questions & Answers.
- Tap Ask a question.
- Enter your question, then tap Send to submit.
Things to know
- You’ll get a notification when someone replies to your question.
- Your question will appear on the product page when it’s answered.
- At times, we may detect keywords in your question to provide information for you so you don’t have to wait for an answer.
- You may see questions and answers synced from the shop’s website or other commerce websites.
- If you purchase a product from the shop, you may get a notification asking you to answer questions about the product from other shop visitors.
- All questions and answers must follow our Community Guidelines and Community Feedback Policy.

Privacy
Who can see the questions that I write on Instagram?
When you ask a question on Instagram, the question is public and will be shown on the product page and across Meta Products. The question will include your username and profile picture.
Your question along with your username and profile picture will appear on any surface where the product page appears.
For example, if you ask a question about a pair of shoes in a shop on Instagram and the shop has a product page for the shoes on Facebook, your question, username and profile picture will appear on Facebook.
When you post a question from your Instagram account, people on Instagram can tap on your username or picture to see your profile. People on Facebook can see your question, Instagram username and picture, but won’t be able to tap to see your profile.
The above applies to any answers you provide to other shoppers’ questions.
How will my data be used?
As with our other products, the actions you take on Facebook and Instagram can be used for purposes such as to provide customer support and to promote safety and integrity.
