About ads in profile on Instagram

With ads in profile on Instagram, advertisers can reach more people while using existing content on Instagram by selecting the Instagram profile reels or Instagram profile feed placement.
Ads in Instagram profile feed appear within the feed view of public Instagram profiles that are over 18 years of age. When someone scrolls through content in their Instagram profile feed, they may see ads between pieces of content. You can run ads in Instagram profile feed using Ads Manager or use boost to create an ad from a feed post.
Ads in Instagram profile reels appear within the reels feed of eligible public Instagram profiles that are over 18 years of age. When someone scrolls through content in a profile’s reels feed, they may see ads between pieces of content. You can run ads in Instagram reels feed using Ads Manager.
Note: Ads in profile targeting is audience-based, meaning people viewing the same profile may see different ads depending on their interests. Learn how Instagram decides which ads to show people.

Boost an Instagram profile feed

When boosting a post on Instagram.com or from the Instagram app, ads that run in the Feed placement will appear in profile feed. If you would like to control what profiles your ad appears on, you can learn how to adjust available brand safety controls. To opt out of having your ad appear in profile feed, you must create your ad in Ads Manager rather than boosting your post.
Where ads will deliver
Not all profiles are eligible for ads in their profile feeds. We use a variety of signals, for example, if an account has recently violated our Community Guidelines, to determine eligibility. Ads will also not be shown in private profiles or on profiles under 18 years of age. Select accounts with a professional account on Instagram are eligible for monetization through ad revenue sharing for ads placed in their profile feeds.
