Search on Threads
Search on Threads allows you to find profiles to follow or view posts about a particular topic.
Find a profile
You can use search to find a profile on Threads by entering a name or username.
To search for a profile on Threads:

  1. Tap search at the bottom.
  2. Tap Search in the search bar at the top.
  3. Type who you want to search for, then tap a profile from the list that appears below your search entry.
Use keyword search
Search can also be used to find posts that contain a keyword.
To search for posts on Threads:

  1. Tap search at the bottom.
  2. Tap Search in the search bar at the top.
  3. Enter a keyword, then tap the search button in the bottom right of your keyboard. Relevant posts will appear in your results.
Keep in mind that keyword search in certain languages may not be entirely accurate.
If you see a post that doesn't follow Instagram’s Community Guidelines, you can report it.
View topics in search
When you access search by tapping search, you’ll be able to see a list of today’s topics that others on Threads are posting about. You can tap a topic to discover and view threads related to it.
Today’s topics are based on what people are engaging with at the moment. AI systems automatically generate a list of high-engagement topics, which are reviewed by our teams of content specialists that ensure the topics:
  • Do not violate our Community Guidelines or other applicable integrity policies
  • Are not overly broad, repetitive of other topics that are already featured, or abbreviations of other topics
  • Are not misspelled, a large character count, or a randomized grouping of words
  • Do not contain statements that match claims rated as false or misleading by third-party fact checkers
  • Only contain opinion content that matches the language of users engaging in discussion of the given topic
