Tag a topic in your post on Threads
Tagging a topic in your post allows others on Threads to discover your post and other posts associated with that topic in real time. You can include up to 1 topic per post.
Tag a topic in your post
Threads app for Android and iPhone
  1. Tap post at the bottom to start a new thread.
  2. Tap tag or type # and then enter a topic. You can either:
    • Tag a topic without a # symbol by entering your topic or choosing from trending topics that appear (example: cats).
    • Tag a topic that includes a # symbol by entering # as the first character of your topic (example: #cats).
  3. When you're ready, tap Post in the bottom right. The text of the topic you tag in your post will appear blue.
If people tap the topic in your post, they’ll be shown search results for posts related to the topic.
Keep in mind that the topic you tag:
  • Can be up to 50 characters long.
  • May contain spaces and other special characters.
  • Doesn’t need to include the # symbol, but can if that is your preferred content strategy. Note: including the # symbol may enable additional functionality on other platforms when Threads becomes interoperable with the fediverse.
