Edit your post or reply on Threads
After you start a thread or reply to a thread, you can choose to edit the text of your post or reply. Note: you can only edit a post or reply within 5 minutes of posting.
Edit your post or reply
Threads app for Android and iPhone- Tap
or your profile picture in the bottom right to go to your profile.
- Tap Threads at the top to view threads you’ve posted or tap Replies at the top to find your replies to threads.
- Tap on a thread or a reply you’ve recently posted.
- Tap
in the top right of your post or reply.
- Tap Edit, then update the text of your post or reply.
- When you’re ready, tap Post.
Keep in mind
- You can’t edit a post or reply 5 minutes after they were posted.
- Only the text of a post or reply can be edited. No additional attachments can be added, nor can current attachments be removed.
- If anyone interacts with your post (examples: like, reply, repost, or quote) before you finish editing, your edited post will include
in the top right to indicate that it’s been edited.
- If you’ve turned on sharing to the fediverse, we will delay sharing your posts to other fediverse servers for 5 minutes to allow for editing of your posts on Threads.
If you’re past the time limit to edit a post, you have the option to delete a post.
