About returns for items bought on Instagram
You can only return items on Instagram when you buy with Meta Pay. Learn more about which products can be bought on Instagram.
To return something you bought on Instagram with Meta Pay, you first have to request a return from the seller. If the seller accepts your return request, you will receive instructions for how to return the item in an email from the seller.
Some sellers may automatically accept your return request. If your request is automatically accepted, the seller will send the return instructions to your email.
If you have an issue with your return, you can contact Instagram for additional support.
Request a return
  1. Tap profile or your profile picture in the bottom right to go to your profile.
  2. Tap more options in the top right.
  3. Tap Orders and payments.
  4. Below Activity, tap your order.
  5. Tap the item you want to return.
  6. Tap Start a return and follow the on-screen instructions.
If you don't see the item in your Orders, please contact the shop directly for help.
Note: For orders with multiple items, you’ll need to request a return for each item separately.
Returns for orders placed on Instagram:
  • Seller policies: Each seller has their own return policy. To see the specific return policy for an item, check the Shipping & Returns section of the product page.
  • Final sale: Please note you won't be able to return items marked as final sale on the product page. You can see if something is final sale by looking for Final sale in the product description and at checkout.
  • Return shipping costs: Buyers usually cover the shipping costs of returns, unless the return is covered by Purchase Protection.
