Troubleshoot Boosting From Instagram
If you're based in or intend to target audiences in the US and want to create an ad campaign that relates to credit, employment, housing, social issues or political ads, you must choose the category that best describes your ads from the Special Ad Category dropdown menu.
Starting February 2024, an Apple service charge of 30% of your total payment amount, before any applicable taxes, may apply when you boost in the Instagram iOS app. This fee is retained by Apple, not Instagram or Meta. Learn more about avoiding Apple service charges when boosting on Instagram.
If you're having trouble boosting posts and stories on Instagram, it may be caused by the following:
  • You're not using a professional account. To create ads on Instagram, you must convert your personal profile to a professional account.
  • You're not a Page admin. If you have a professional account, but are still having problems, it might be that you're not a Page admin of the Facebook Page connected to your Instagram professional account. To resolve this issue, ask the admin of the Facebook Page to add you as an admin.
Note:
If your Instagram or Facebook account is in Accounts Center with a subscription to use Meta Products without ads, your ability to monetize and run ads is limited. Learn more about how subscribing to Meta Products without ads limits your ability to advertise or monetize with ads.
