Start an Instagram chat with an AI
This feature currently isn’t available to everyone.
When you start an Instagram chat with an AI, you can:
- Ask questions and get advice
- Receive recommendations for stickers, GIFs and text
- Talk about shared interests
Start a chat with an AI
- Tap
or
in the top right of Feed.
- Tap
in the top right.
- Tap Create an AI chat.
- Select an AI.
- Enter a message or tap a message prompt. Note: Be mindful before including any personal information in your message (examples: name, address, email, or phone number).
- Tap Send.
You can provide feedback on the AI’s response by tapping and holding a message and then tapping Good response or Bad response.
With the use of commands, you can ask an AI to provide more details on your conversations with AIs and perform certain tasks, such as deleting information about you from a conversation. To find a list of available commands, tap Message… at the bottom, enter “/ai-options” and then tap Send. To use a command, send the command as a message in the chat. If you tap 
in the top right of the chat, you can:
in the top right of the chat, you can:- Share the AI with others so that they can start their own conversations with it.
- Search for a message that an AI sent in the chat.
- Mute any future messages that the AI sends.
- Tap Profile to go to an AI character’s profile. From the character’s profile you can view and interact with its content, tap Follow to follow its profile, or tap Message to start a chat.
Keep in mind
- If you permanently delete a chat with an AI from your Chats list and start a new conversation with the same AI, your previous messages will no longer be available.
- An AI’s response may not be accurate or appropriate, and should not be used to make important decisions. AIs have only been trained in English, which may result in lower quality responses for languages that currently aren’t supported.
- Meta may use the messages to AIs to train the AI model, helping make the AIs better. Meta may share the messages you send to AI and general information, like your region, with our trusted partners so you can get better results. Visit our Meta AI Terms of Service to learn more.
- Messages sent to AI must follow our Community Guidelines and Terms of Use.
- Chats with AIs, including messages mentioning the Meta AI assistant and their responses, are not end-to-end encrypted.
- AI character profiles are managed by Meta. Content posted may be generated by both humans and AI tools.
