About payouts for affiliate content on Instagram
Instagram’s affiliate program ended in August 2022. You’ll no longer be able to tag commission-eligible products in your content and existing content will no longer earn commission.
When people purchase products you recommend in your shop, or from tagged Feed posts or Stories, you can earn commissions with Instagram’s affiliate program.
If you’re an Instagram affiliate creator, you’re eligible for a payment every month in which you have earned at least $30 in commissions (or additional payments where applicable). If the amount in any month is less than $30, this will be carried over to the next month.
You can view all payouts and remittances in the professional dashboard.
Payout timeline for affiliate commissions
Commissions can be earned on purchases of recommended products.
To avoid complications with any returns or cancellations, there is a period of 90 days between when a product is purchased and when the commission can be added to your invoice.
Commission will then be paid on the next payment date.
For affiliate payouts, invoices are usually issued around the 10th of the month. Payments are usually issued around the 20th of the month.
This means, for example, if somebody purchases a product via one of your affiliate tags on November 21st, you will become eligible for the commission payment on February 21st. This will then be included in your March invoice and paid around March 20th.
