Eligibility requirements for Instagram partnership ads and branded content
Branded content ads are now called partnership ads.
To post branded content or run partnership ads on Instagram, creators, publishers, and other professional accounts must pass and remain compliant with our eligibility requirements.

Eligibility requirements

In order to post branded content or run partnership ads on Instagram, your account and content must:
Comply with our Community Guidelines. These rules apply to all posts and interactions on Instagram, including rules against hate speech, calls for violence, and sexualized content. Any content posted by publishers or creators that violates our Community Guidelines, including our policies regarding intellectual property, authenticity, and user safety, may cause publishers or creators to become ineligible or lose their eligibility to monetize using our features.
If you believe you may have violated our policies regarding intellectual property, you can find more information and learn more about copyright or trademark infringement here.
Share accurate information.Creators and publishers posting content flagged as misinformation and false news may be ineligible or may lose their eligibility to run branded content or partnership ads. You can read more about this here.
Develop an established presence. Creators and publishers must have an authentic, established presence on Instagram. This also includes maintaining a sufficient follower base.
Follow our rules for politicians and governments. The following political and government entities are ineligible to run branded content or partnership ads:
  • Current elected and appointed government officials
  • Current political candidates
  • Political parties
  • Registered political committees
  • Government agencies and departments
Communications that are regulated as political advertising under applicable law are also ineligible to run branded content or partnership ads. However, in the United States, the branded content tool may be used in branded content posts if the paying partner has been authorized to run ads about social issues, elections or politics with a connected Facebook page.
Avoid systemic violations. Monetized creators and publishers, and those that have not been onboarded to a monetization product, may lose the ability to monetize if an entity connected to it has repeatedly violated these requirements.
Instagram reserves the right to modify, suspend or terminate access to, or discontinue the availability of, its content monetization features at any time.
If your Instagram or Facebook account is in Accounts Center with a subscription to use Meta Products without ads, your ability to monetize and run ads is limited. Learn more about how subscribing to Meta Products without ads limits your ability to advertise or monetize with ads.
