To keep your Threads profile secure, you’ll need to make sure your Instagram account is secure too. You can use the following tools to help keep your profile secure when you use Threads.
Use Instagram's security features
- Turn on two-factor authentication for more account security.
- Turn on login requests to receive alerts whenever someone tries to access your account.
- Revoke access to any suspicious third-party apps.
- Create a strong password with a combination of at least six numbers, letters, and special characters to avoid repetition. Change your password regularly.
Never share your Instagram account information
- Never share your Instagram password.
- Log out of Instagram when using a computer you share with other people.
Report scammers and suspicious activity
- Watch out for common scams on Instagram that might appear on Threads.
- Report threads that don’t follow Instagram’s Community Guidelines.
- Report Threads profiles that impersonate you.
- Report suspicious emails to phish@instagram.com.
- Don’t click any suspicious links or attachments in threads.
