Turn login requests on or off on Instagram
When you set up two-factor authentication on Instagram you’ll receive an alert whenever someone tries logging in to your account from a device or web browser we don't recognize. These alerts may appear as push notifications, in Activity, or as in-app notifications, and will tell you which device tried logging in and where it's located. You can approve or deny the request immediately.
To turn login requests on or off:
Instagram app for Android and iPhone
  1. Tap profile or your profile picture in the bottom right to go to your profile.
  2. Tap more options in the top right, then tap settingsSettings.
  3. Tap Security, then tap Two-factor authentication.
  4. Tap Additional methods, then tap toggle next to Login requests to turn notifications on or off.
Note that in order to receive login request notifications, you may need to turn on push notifications from Instagram.
To approve or deny a login request:
Instagram app for Android and iPhone
  1. Tap the notification to view the location and type of device the request is coming from.
  2. Tap Approve if you recognize the device to allow access to your account. Tap Deny if you don’t recognize the device.
  3. If you deny the request, follow the on-screen instructions to reset your password. Note: When you deny a login request from a device you don’t recognize, we ask you to reset your password so that anyone trying to get into your account with your current password will no longer have access.
Note that you can view a list of devices that have recently logged into your Instagram account at any time. If you don’t recognize a recent login, you can log out of that location or device and let us know that the login wasn’t you.
