Manage Instagram’s access to suggest content
You can allow Instagram to access metadata about the photos and videos on your device's camera so that we can group your media in your gallery and suggest content for you to share. You can always turn off access to this.
About access and permissions
What allowing access does
If you have allowed the Instagram app to access metadata about the photos and videos on your device's camera, then we can group your photos and videos in your gallery and suggest stories and posts. We can also prepare ready-made reels from photos and videos on your device camera roll.
Control over allow access
Suggested content is only available if you have turned on “Allow access.” You can turn off or allow access at any time from your Instagram camera settings.
Privacy with allowed access
Your photos and videos won’t be shared to Instagram unless you choose to post them as reels, posts or stories.
