Why am I getting a request to have my content featured in a brand’s shop on Instagram?

This feature is not available to everyone at this time.

When you tag a brand in a post featuring one of their products sold on Instagram, the brand can request to share your post in their shop on Instagram.

If you accept the request, your post will only appear on product pages or in other sections of Instagram Shop. It will not be shared on the brand’s profile, feed or story.

Keep in mind that brands can only request to use your content if you have a public profile.

How do I know if content from another user in a brand's shop on Instagram is paid content?

For posts where a creator has been paid or entered into a paid partnership with a brand, the post may include the hashtags “paid” or “ad.” The post may also contain a “paid partnership” tag.

No, you will not be paid if a brand requests permission and you allow them to share your post in their shop on Instagram.

Can brands request to use my content in their shop on Instagram if I have a private account?

No, if you have a private account, brands will not be able to request to use your content in their shop.

How do I accept or decline a request from a brand to use my content in their shop on Instagram?

When a brand requests to use your content, you will receive a notification in your Activity feed.

To accept or decline a request:

  1. Tap in the bottom right to view your notifications.
  2. Tap the notification with the brand's request.
  3. To approve a request, tap Accept. To deny a request, tap Decline.
Can I turn off the option for brands to request to use my content in their shop on Instagram?

Yes, you can turn off the option for brands to request to use your content at any time.

To turn off requests from brands:

  1. Tap or your profile picture in the bottom right.
  2. Tap .
  3. Tap Settings, then tap Privacy.
  4. Tap Tags, then tap Allow Requests to turn requests on or off.
Can I change my mind after giving a brand permission to share my content in their shop on Instagram?

Yes, if you no longer want to allow a brand to use your content, you can remove the content from the brand’s shop at any time.

To remove the content:

  1. Go to the brand's shop, then tap on the post you want removed.
  2. Tap in the top right of the post.
  3. Tap Tag Options, then tap Remove from Shops.
What can I do if I've been tagged in another user's post, but I don't want to show up in a brand's shop on Instagram?

If you are tagged in a post that has been approved by another user for use in a brand's shop, you can request to remove the content at any time.

To request to remove the content:

  1. In the brand's shop, tap on the post you are tagged in.
  2. Tap in the top right of the post.
  3. Tap Tag Options.
  4. Tap Remove me from Post to remove your tag from the post, or tap Remove from Shops to remove the post from the brand's shop.
How do I report a brand?

If you see something in an Instagram shop that you think may violate our policies, you can report the brand.

To report a brand:

  1. Go to the profile of the brand you want to report.
  2. Tap in the top right.
  3. Tap Report and follow the on-screen instructions.

Your report is anonymous, except if you’re reporting an intellectual property infringement. The brand you reported won’t see who reported them.
