What to do if Instagram didn't remove content you reported
When you report a piece of content (example: post, comment, story) to us, we will take action to hide or remove that content from Instagram if we find that it goes against our Community Guidelines. Our Community Guidelines define what is and isn't allowed on Instagram, and they apply all over the world. They're designed to encourage expression and create a safe environment on Instagram.
After you report a piece of content to us, you’ll receive a notification in your Support requests, where you can check the status of something you’ve reported to us. After we review the content we’ll let you know whether it did or did not go against our Community Guidelines.
Even if we don’t remove the content or profile you reported, we understand that you likely want to see less of this type of content on Instagram. We may use your report to make content similar to what you reported appear lower in your feed or in the recommendations we make for you, like Suggested Posts and Explore.
What if I disagree with Instagram’s decision about content I reported?
Instagram will remove content when we find it goes against our Community Guidelines. If you reported content from others but we find the content doesn’t go against our Community Guidelines, we’ll let you know. At that time, if you disagree with our decision to leave the content up, we usually offer the chance to request another review. When you request a review, we’ll revisit the content and review it once more. For some types of content, you can't request a review, but we're adding more options.
To request a review of the content you reported:
Instagram app for Android and iPhone
  1. Tap profile or your profile picture in the bottom right to go to your profile.
  2. Tap more options in the top right.
  3. Below More info and support, tap Help.
  4. Tap Support requests, then tap Reports.
  5. Open the update we sent you about our decision.
  6. Tap See support options at the bottom.
  7. Tap Request review, then follow the on-screen instructions.
Once you ask us to take another look, your content will be reviewed again by Instagram, usually within 24 hours. If we find we've made a mistake, we'll let you know, and the content your reported will be removed.
If you’ve requested another review and we uphold our decision for the second time, you may be able to appeal to the Oversight Board. Keep in mind that not all decisions are eligible for appeal to the Oversight Board and the board only selects a certain number of eligible appeals, so they may not choose yours to review. You can read more about the board’s bylaws and structure on their website.
