Manage how people use your product tags on their Instagram posts
Everyone in the US, UK, Canada, Italy, Spain, France, Germany, Japan and Australia with a qualified public Instagram account can tag products in their feed posts and stories from brands with shops on Instagram. Learn more about shopping tags on Instagram
You receive a notification when someone tags your products, similar to notifications received when your brand is tagged in a post. You can view these posts and stories in the Tagged media tab on your Instagram profile. Posts and stories with product tags display a shopping bag icon.
You can remove product tags from posts and stories that feature your products and control the ability for Instagram accounts to use your shop’s product tags at any time. Content must meet our Commerce Policies, otherwise product tags may automatically be removed.
Remove access to product tagging
To remove access to product tagging:
  1. In the Instagram app, go to your profile.
  2. Tap more options in the top right.
  3. Tap Business.
  4. Tap Shopping.
  5. Tap Product tags.
  6. Tap Don’t allow product tags. Only you will be able to tag products from your shop.
Note: Existing posts with shopping tags are not affected. You must manually remove tags from an existing post.
Remove product tags from someone's Instagram post
To remove product and brand tags from their Instagram post:
  1. Go to the post with the product tag that you want to delete.
  2. Tap more actions (Android) or more actions (iOS).
  3. Tap Post options.
  4. Tap Remove me from post to delete the brand tag or Remove all tags from post to also delete the product tags.
Your product tag is removed from the post.
Remove product stickers from someone's Instagram stories
To remove product stickers from their Instagram story:
  1. Go to the story with the product sticker that you want to delete.
  2. Tap more actions (Android) or more actions (iOS).
  3. Tap Remove products if multiple shops' products are tagged or Remove product sticker if only your products are tagged.
  4. Tap Remove me from post to delete the brand tag or Remove all tags from post to also delete the product tags.
Your product sticker is removed from the post.
