Update your personal information on Instagram
You'll need to log into your account before you're able to update your profile information. Not everyone will be able to access this setting in Accounts Center at this time.
Your personal information on Instagram includes your email, phone number, gender and birthday. The information you update here won’t be part of your public profile on Instagram.
To update your personal information in Accounts Center:
- Tap
or your profile picture in the bottom right to go to your profile.
- Tap
Settings at the top.
- Tap Accounts Center, then tap Personal details.
- From here, you can update your contact information (email or phone number) and birthday.
Note: Birthdays need to match across all accounts in an Accounts Center. Any updates you make to your birthday will apply to all accounts in the same Accounts Center.
To update your personal information from your profile:
- Tap your profile picture in the bottom right to go to your profile.
- Tap Edit Profile.
- From here, you can:
- Tap below Email to update your email. Tap Done and follow the on-screen instructions to confirm your email address.
- Tap below Phone number to add or update your phone number. Tap Done.
- Tap below Gender to add or update your gender. If you select Custom, type your gender. Tap Done.
- Tap Submit.
