Set up a PIN for Meta Pay
When making a payment with Meta Pay, you may be required to set up a PIN (in some use cases, a PIN is mandatory). For some devices, you can also use biometrics for an extra layer of security.
Set up a Meta Pay PIN for Instagram
- Open the Instagram app for iOS or Android.
- Tap
in the bottom right.
- Tap
in the top right.
- Tap Orders and payments, then tap Security.
- Tap next to Use PIN to confirm payments to create a PIN.
After you’ve created one, you can use a PIN for additional security when you send money or make some payments by turning on Use PIN to confirm payments (availability varies by use case). We may require PIN verification when making certain types of transactions.
Please note that payment methods issued in the European Economic Area (EEA) or UK may be required to complete additional authentication measures online.
If you forget your PIN, select Change PIN and then Forgot PIN? From here, enter your Facebook password to reset your PIN.
If you suspect your PIN was hacked or compromised, contact support for help.
