Turn quiet mode on or off on Instagram
What is quiet mode?
Quiet mode lets you automatically pause your Instagram notifications every day during the time period you choose. The default setting is every night from 11 PM to 7 AM, but you can edit these hours in Settings.
When you’re in quiet mode, you can still use Instagram and send and receive messages. Your activity status will change to “In quiet mode,” and the green active dot will change to a moon icon. People who message you will get an auto-reply that explains you won’t be notified about their messages during this time.
When quiet mode ends, you’ll get a summary of any new notifications or messages you received while you were in quiet mode.
How to turn quiet mode on or off
- Tap
or your profile picture in the bottom right to go to your profile.
- Tap
in the top right.
- Tap
Notifications.
- Tap Quiet mode.
- Tap the toggle next to Quiet mode to turn it on or off.
- If you turn quiet mode on, you can change the time it's active for.
Note: You can turn on quiet mode for up to 12 hours each day. Learn how to pause Instagram notifications for longer than that.
