How to Boost Reels Shared to Facebook
Reels from Instagram can now be turned into advertisements and shared to Facebook via Instagram Boost. You can Boost reels on Instagram and share them to Facebook at the same time to interact and engage with your audience on both platforms.
Before you begin
  • Your reel can be up to 60 seconds and should be in the fullscreen, vertical format.
  • We recommend that your video ad creative includes music or sound to better fit the Reels placement.
  • Your Instagram Reels shouldn't use licensed music. We recommend using royalty-free music, like what's available in our Sound Collection, or original audio for promotion instead.
Boost a Reel On Facebook
If your Instagram account is connected to Facebook, follow the steps below:
  1. Create your Instagram Reel as usual, using best practices.
  2. Before posting your Instagram Reel, tap Share on Facebook.
  3. You will then be prompted with the option to Boost your Reel to more people. Select Boost reel.
If your Instagram account is not connected to Facebook:
  1. You will see Recommend on Facebook and will need to toggle the feature to On.
  2. Select whether you want to turn this feature on for all reels or just the current reel.
  3. Next, share your reel.
  4. You will then be prompted with the option to Boost your Reel to more people. Select Boost reel.
After boosting your reel
You will be able to access:
  • Ad metrics (from the created media that created the Facebook ad).
  • Facebook organic metrics (because of the organic media recommended on Facebook).
  • Instagram organic metrics (from the original Instagram Reel).
