How to crosspost to a Facebook Page with Instagram
You can no longer share posts from a personal Instagram account to a Facebook Page that you manage. Follow the steps in this article to enable crossposting from your Instagram professional account to a Facebook Page.
To share posts from your Instagram account to your Facebook Page, you need to:
- Have a professional Instagram account or convert your Instagram account to a professional account
- You can choose to set up a creator account or set up a business account on Instagram.
- Have a personal Facebook account that is the admin of that Page on Facebook
- Connect your Facebook Page to your Instagram professional account
- If your Facebook Page is added to your Meta Business Account in Business Manager, you must also add the professional Instagram account to the same Meta Business Account before you can connect them.
Note: When you switch to a business or creator account, your Instagram account will be public and you’ll have access to new features.
Before you begin
- You’ll need a creator or business account on Instagram. Learn how to set up a creator account or set up a business account on Instagram.
- You'll need a Facebook Page.
- You'll need a Facebook personal account that has an admin role on your Facebook Page.
Connect your Facebook Page to your Instagram Account
You’ll need to connect your Instagram account to your Facebook Page in order to enable crossposting of your posts, stories, and/or reels from Instagram to Facebook.
To connect your Instagram account to a Facebook Page:
- Go to your Instagram Profile.
- Tap Edit Profile.
- Under Profile information, tap Connect or create next to Page.
- Tap Continue.
- Choose a Page from your Pages that you'd like to connect to or select Create a new Facebook Page.
- Tap Done once you've selected a Page or created a new Facebook Page.
Your professional account is now connected to a Facebook Page. If you select an existing Page, you may be prompted to log into your personal Facebook account. This is an authentication step that is required to confirm that your personal Facebook account has access to the Facebook Page you’d like to crosspost to.
Note: If your Facebook Page is added to your Meta Business Account in Business Manager, you must also add the professional Instagram account to the same Meta Business Account before you can connect them.
Enable automatic crossposting to a Facebook Page
To enable automatic crossposting to a Facebook Page:
- Go to your Instagram creator or business profile.
- Tap
in the top right.
- Tap Crossposting.
- For some accounts, you'll need to tap Crosspost to Facebook Page.
- In the cross-posting settings, click the toggle
to turn on crossposting for some or all types of posts (story, posts or reels).
Once you enable crossposting, an admin can post from the Instagram creator or business account to the Facebook Page from any device. You can also find or update existing crossposting settings from here.
Enable crossposting to a Facebook Page for an individual post or reel
To enable crossposting to a Facebook Page for individual posts or reels:
- Click
to create a post or reel using a photo or video.
- Tap Next.
- Edit or add filters to your photo, then tap Next.
- Tap Share to Facebook.
- Click the toggle
- Note: You need to have your Facebook Page connected to your Instagram account. If you haven't done this yet, follow the steps in the beginning of this article.
- Once you've reviewed your post, tap Share.
