Create a poll in a chat on Instagram
This feature may be unavailable in Japan and for countries located in Europe.
You can create a poll in chats on Instagram to ask a question with custom answers and see how people vote. Note: Polls can be created in group chats that include 3 or more accounts.
Create a poll in a chat
To create a poll in a group chat:
  1. Tap messenger in the top right of Feed.
  2. Tap a group name from your Chats list to open the conversation.
  3. Tap stickers, then tap Poll.
  4. Enter your question and answers, then tap Create Poll.
While the poll is still active, you can tap View Poll to change your vote or add options to the poll. Note that anyone in the group chat can also add options to the poll or change their vote.
To add a poll sticker to a photo or video in a chat:
  1. Tap send or messenger in the top right of Feed.
  2. Tap a username or group name to open the conversation. You can also start a new conversation by tapping in the top right and selecting people you want to message.
  3. Open the camera and take a photo or video.
  4. Tap stickers, then tap Poll.
  5. Enter your question and answers, then tap Done. You can also move or resize the poll sticker.
  6. Tap Send.
Keep in mind that people can't vote by tapping a poll sticker added to photos or videos shared in message. Others will need to reply below the photo or video in the chat with the option they choose.
To see how people voted on your poll in a group chat:
  1. Tap messenger in the top right of Feed.
  2. Tap the conversation where you sent the poll.
  3. You can see how someone voted below the poll you sent.
