Save a post as a draft on Instagram
Drafts are saved onto your device. You won’t be able to access a saved draft from another device, even if you log in to your account. If you uninstall the app, your drafts will be lost.
Once you start creating a post, you can save it as a draft and share it later.
Save your post as a draft
  1. Tap create new at the bottom or swipe right anywhere in Feed.
    • To upload a photo from your phone's library, select the photo you'd like to share.
    • To take a new photo, tap search with your camera. You can tap to switch between front and rear-facing cameras and to adjust flash.
  2. Add effects, filters, then tap Next.
  3. Add a caption or your location, then tap back twice in the top left.
  4. Select Save draft.
Note: If you don't edit the post, tag people or add a caption or location, you won't be able to save the post as a draft.
