How to turn Instagram two-factor authentication for multiple devices on or off
If you set up two-factor authentication for an Instagram account using a third-party authentication app, you can connect multiple devices to two-factor authentication on that account.
When you add multiple devices to two-factor authentication on a single Instagram account, you’ll get a 6-digit login code from the authentication app on that device.
Keep in mind that one device will need to set up two-factor authentication through an authentication app first before other devices can be added. Any additional devices will also need to download an authentication app before connecting to two-factor authentication.
To set up two-factor authentication on additional devices:
  1. Tap profile or your profile picture in the bottom right to go to your profile.
  2. Tap more options in the top right.
  3. Tap Accounts Center, then tap Password and security.
  4. Tap Two-factor authentication, then select your Instagram account.
  5. Tap Authentication app, then tap Copy key or View barcode/QR code to link your account to the authentication app.
  6. After your Instagram account is linked to your authentication app, copy the 6-digit code your authentication app creates.
  7. Go back to the Instagram app, tap Next and paste the 6-digit code to complete the process on that device.
Keep in mind that you can add up to five connected devices to two-factor authentication for a single Instagram account and you can remove a connected device at any time.
Your Instagram key can also be used if you use multiple authentication apps on the same device. To do this, follow the steps above on the same device.
To remove a connected device from two-factor authentication:
  1. Tap profile or your profile picture in the bottom right to go to your profile.
  2. Tap more options in the top right.
  3. Tap Accounts Center.
  4. Tap Passwords and security, then tap Two-factor authentication.
  5. Tap the method you are using to get login codes (example: text message, WhatsApp, or authentication app).
  6. Tap Turn off.
Removing a connected device from two-factor authentication does not log it out from your account.
