Pay for ads from the Instagram app
You can pay for boosted posts from the Instagram app by adding a payment method. You can also pay for your boosted Instagram posts by linking a Facebook Page to your Instagram professional account and using your ad account.
Before you begin
- You may need to convert to an Instagram professional account to link to a Facebook Page.
- Be an admin of the Page you'd like to connect to.
Note: When you boost a post on the Facebook or Instagram iOS apps, you’ll need to pay with prepaid funds. Prepaid funds added through the iOS apps will be charged through Apple, which retains a service fee on your total ad payment before applicable taxes. Applicable taxes and Apple service fees are not kept by Meta.
To add a payment method to your account:
- Go to your profile and tap
in the upper right corner.
- Select Business tools and controls or Creator tools and controls depending on your profile type.
- Tap Ad payments.
- Tap Payment methods. From here, you can select a payment method that is linked from Facebook. You can also add another payment method, like PayPal, or a credit or debit card.
Note: If you change the primary payment method on your ad account, that change will be reflected across both Facebook and Instagram.
