Control which products appear in your shop using the Instagram app
To add sections, such as collections, products or promotion banners, to your shop’s home page learn how to customize your shop’s home page.
Using Commerce Manager or the Instagram app, you can choose your shop’s inventory setting to control which products from your catalog are included in your shop. You can also manually hide specific products from your shop if you don't want them to appear. Learn how to control which products appear in your shop using Commerce Manager.
Note: If you host your products on a third-party platform, we recommend that you manage your products from the third-party platform.
How to choose your inventory setting
How to choose your inventory setting using the Instagram app:
- Go to your profile.
- Tap View shop.
- Tap Settings.
- Tap Business.
- Tap Shopping.
- Tap Inventory.
- Choose an inventory setting to control the products that appear in your shop:
- Default is the recommended setting. It automatically shows all products from your catalog in your shop. You’ll be able to manually hide any specific products that you don’t want to show.
- Advanced hides products from your catalog by default. To appear in your shop, products need to be featured on your shop’s home page, added to a collection, tagged in a post or manually added.
Note: If you have multiple shops that share a catalog, we recommend using the Advanced inventory setting.
How to manually add, hide or delete a product
How to manually add, hide or delete a product using the Instagram app:
- Go to your profile.
- Tap View shop.
- Tap

- Tap Manage products. You can view and manage the products you've added to your shop inventory.
- Find the product that you want to manage and tap
(Android) or
(iPhone).
- To hide a product, tap Hide from shop. This hides the product from all your shops across Facebook and Instagram, including if it’s in a collection or featured on your shop’s home page.
- To unhide a product, tap Show in shop.
- To delete a product from your catalog, tap Delete. This permanently removes the product from all of your shops on Facebook and Instagram, including all of your ads. If a product is deleted it cannot be undone.
When you hide a product from your shop, people are still able to find your product in their cart, direct messages, recently viewed and order history. You can add products that have been hidden back to your shop at any time.
