Instagram Subscriptions gives you the ability to create exclusive content and provide benefits for your most engaged followers at a set monthly price. Before your followers can subscribe to you, complete the setup steps in the professional dashboard.

Note: Facebook Subscriptions are separate from Instagram Subscriptions.

To set up Subscriptions in the professional dashboard:

Note: You can also set up Subscriptions in your settings.

Once you enable Subscriptions, you’ll see a confirmation on the next screen that your subscription is ready. Tap Done so people can start subscribing to you from your profile.

Your followers will automatically be notified in 3 days in their activity feed and will also see a Subscribe button on your profile. If you don’t want to wait 3 days to notify your followers, you can tap Notify now.

You can encourage more people to subscribe by tapping See next steps on your profile to learn how you can promote your Subscription and create exclusive content.

You can also create a Subscription Preview that lets you make some of your exclusive, subscription-only content visible to everyone who visits your profile. This content helps potential subscribers understand what your Subscription offers. You can also use the Subscription sticker in your story to promote your Subscription to your followers.

To make changes to the monthly price you set for your subscribers, go to Subscription Settings and tap Monthly price. Make your selection and tap Save.

Note: If you change your monthly price, it will only apply to new subscribers and existing subscribers will continue to pay the existing Subscription fee.

After onboarding, you’ll be redirected to Subscriptions Settings. You can create promo and welcome reels and find additional Next Steps for your Subscription. To see the full list, tap See all.

You can encourage people to subscribe faster by offering a discount.
