Earn money with badges

This feature is only available for business and creator accounts on Instagram.

Instagram badges let you earn money when you go live.

If your video contains content that violates our Content Monetization Policies, it may be flagged as being ineligible to earn money through badges. Individual violations of our standards may lead to the disabling of badges for that specific video and from going Live with badges in the future.

Before you begin

You’ll need to have a professional (creator or business) account.
Review eligibility requirements to monetize with badges.

If you meet the eligibility requirements, you’ll receive a notification that you can monetize with badges in the Instagram app.

Apply for monetization

To apply for monetization in the Instagram app:

Go to the professional dashboard at the top of your profile.
Tap Apply for monetization.
To complete, tap Submit application.

You’ll be notified once again if your application has been approved. You can Check your status in the professional dashboard at any time to see if your application is still in review.

Note: If your application was denied, you can submit a review.

Once approved, youll become eligible to set up badges.

Set up badges

To set up badges in the professional dashboard:

Tap Set up badges.
Note: You will also see a notification at the top of your profile.
Review and accept the terms.
Select your country and business type (Individual or Business owner).
Note: If you’re a business owner, the next page will ask you to confirm you are the legal owner. Enter your legal and tax information.
Add a payout method.
To complete, tap Done.
