How to set up a creator account on Instagram
On Instagram, you can convert your personal or business account into a public creator account to access features that make it easier to control your online presence, understand your growth and manage your messages. Learn more about the creator account on Instagram
If your personal account is private, completing the steps below will make it public. Note: All pending follow requests will be automatically accepted when you go public.
Before you begin
- To set up an Instagram creator account, you need to create an Instagram account or use an existing Instagram account.
- You can only have 5 Instagram accounts at a time, without having to log out and log back in.
Set up a creator account on Instagram
To switch your personal account to a creator account on Instagram:
- Go to your profile and tap
in the upper right corner.
- Select Account type and tools.
- Select Switch to professional account.
- Select your category. You can choose a category that best describes what you do and tap Done.
- Select Creator.
To switch your business account to a creator account on Instagram:
- Go to your profile and tap
- Select Business tools and controls.
- Select Switch account type.
- Select Switch to creator account.
- Select Switch.
Once you’ve set up your creator account, you'll have access to the professional dashboard to see your insights and view your eligibility to use monetization tools on Instagram.
