You can choose the audience that can mention or tag you on Instagram.
If someone that’s not in your selected audience tries to mention or tag you, they’ll see that you don’t allow mentions or tags from everyone.
Manage who can mention you
Your mention settings allow you to manage who can link your account in stories, comments, live videos and captions.
To update your mention settings:
Tap
or your profile picture in the bottom right to go to your profile.
Tap
in the top right, then tap
Settings.
- Tap Privacy.
- Tap Mentions.
- Tap the circle to the right of the audience you want to let mention you (example: People You Follow or No One).
Manage who can tag you
Your tag settings allow you to manage who can tag your account in their photos and videos.
To update your tag settings:
Tap
or your profile picture in the bottom right to go to your profile.
Tap
in the top right, then tap
Settings.
- Tap Privacy.
- Tap Tags.
- Below Who can tag you, tap the circle to the right of the audience you want to let tag you (example: Everyone, People You Follow or No One).
