Who can mention or tag you on Instagram
You can choose the audience that can mention or tag you on Instagram.
If someone that’s not in your selected audience tries to mention or tag you, they’ll see that you don’t allow mentions or tags from everyone.
Manage who can mention you
Your mention settings allow you to manage who can link your account in stories, comments, live videos and captions.
To update your mention settings:
  1. Tap profile or your profile picture in the bottom right to go to your profile.
  2. Tap more options in the top right, then tap settingsSettings.
  3. Tap Privacy.
  4. Tap Mentions.
  5. Tap the circle to the right of the audience you want to let mention you (example: People You Follow or No One).
Manage who can tag you
Your tag settings allow you to manage who can tag your account in their photos and videos.
To update your tag settings:
  1. Tap profile or your profile picture in the bottom right to go to your profile.
  2. Tap more options in the top right, then tap settingsSettings.
  3. Tap Privacy.
  4. Tap Tags.
  5. Below Who can tag you, tap the circle to the right of the audience you want to let tag you (example: Everyone, People You Follow or No One).
By default, when someone tags you in photo or video, it will automatically be added to your profile unless it's been detected as potential spam. You can also manage whether photos and videos you're tagged in appear on your profile manually or automatically.
Keep in mind, if you block someone, they won't be able to tag you or mention your username.
