How do I mute or unmute someone's Instagram story?
If you don't want someone's story to appear in the bar at the top of Feed, you can mute their story.
Mute someone's story
- At the top of feed, tap and hold the profile picture of the person whose story you'd like to mute.
- Select Mute, then tap
next to Story.
Unmute someone's story
- Tap their username from their Feed post, or tap
and search their username to go to their profile.
- Tap Following below their bio.
- Tap Mute, then tap
next to Stories.
If you mute someone's stories, you won't see their story at the top of your feed. Muting someone's story is different from unfollowing them and from muting their profile. You'll still see their posts in feed and notes they share on Instagram.
