Record a reel on Instagram
You can record and edit videos up to 90 seconds with Instagram Reels. You can add effects and music to your reel or use your own original audio.
Reels isn’t currently available to everyone. Some accounts may be able to see reels, but won't be able to record them.
Record your reel
- Tap
at the bottom or swipe right anywhere in Feed.
- Tap REEL at the top.
- Tap
Camera in the top right, then tap
at the bottom to record a clip.
- Tap
in the bottom right. You can add music, stickers, text or trim your reel.
- Tap Next in the botton right. Here you can write a caption, tag people, add a location and adjust your post's settings.
- Tap Share at the bottom.
Note that you can record one or multiple clips that add up to 90 seconds. The progress bar at the top shows how long you’ve recorded. If you share your reel to Explore, it can also be seen on the Reels section of your profile.
