Turn on Dark mode for Instagram
Dark mode cannot be turned on or off in the Instagram app for iPhone and can only be adjusted in your iPhone's device settings.
Dark mode adjusts the colors on your screen for a darker appearance. You can choose to turn dark mode on or off for each device you use to access Instagram.
Turn on dark mode for Instagram:
- Tap
or your profile picture in the bottom right to go to your profile.
- Tap
in the top right.
- Below Your app and media, tap Accessibility.
- Tap Dark mode.
- From here you can turn dark mode on or off by tapping
next to On or Off. You can also choose to adjust dark mode for Instagram based on your device's settings by tapping System default.
Keep in mind that you may need to update your device's operating system to Android 10 to access this setting in the Instagram app.
Note: Turning on dark mode from your Android device will only enable dark mode in the Instagram app. If you'd like to turn on dark mode for Instagram.com from your computer or a mobile browser, you'll need to go to each device to enable it.
