About carousel ads in Instagram Reels
This feature is gradually rolling out to advertisers and may not be available to you yet.
You can now use the carousel ad format in the Instagram Reels placement. Instagram may transform your carousel image ads to video-like ads in Reels to allow for a new, immersive video experience.
If you select Automatic placements for any carousel image ad, which can be 2 to 10 images, then your ad is automatically eligible to be transformed into a full-screen 9x16 skippable video-like ad in Instagram Reels. Both 9x16 and non 9x16 ads will be transformed into video-like ads. This feature is only applicable to the following objectives: awareness, traffic and app promotion. Note that the ad will have no audio and can be up to 10 seconds, though the actual length will depend on the number of images. Your ad will deliver to all countries where organic reels are available.
If you would like to opt out of this feature, you can select Manual placements for your carousel ad campaign and deselect Reels.
