If you are under 18, you may not have the Don’t reduce option when managing your false content settings, which means you may not have the option to see more content that may be false on Instagram or Threads. If you are under 16, your false content setting will be set to Reduce more by default, which means you may see less content that may be false on Instagram or Threads.
When third-party fact-checkers identify false information or altered content on Instagram and Threads, we may make the content harder to find. On Instagram, we may filter out content from Explore and hashtag pages and reduce its visibility in Feed and Stories. On Threads, we may reduce or filter out content in your feed and search results.
The false content control setting allows you to choose how often content that may be false appears in your feed.
This control is automatically set to the default (Reduce). You can change this setting at any time to see more or less content that may be false.
