WARNING: Read and follow the warnings below to reduce the risk of personal injury and property damage.
AR Walk experiences are not intended for and should not be used by children under the age of 13. Adults should ensure that children (age 13 and older) are supervised at all times while using AR Walk experiences and that they use the app in accordance with these safety warnings.
Meta Spark AR Walk (“AR Walk”) experiences invite you to move around in the real world. The experience does NOT alert you to any potential risks or hazards you may encounter, and conditions in the real world may not match what you see in the app. You are solely responsible for ensuring that your use of the app provides a safe experience for both you and everyone/everything you may encounter. For your safety and the safety of others, always be alert and aware of your surroundings before and while using AR Walk experiences.
AR objects in AR Walk experiences are developed and placed by third-party creators. Depending on real-world conditions, AR objects may not have been placed in an accessible location, and may not be safe or appropriate to approach. You must use your independent judgment and common sense when determining whether, when, and how to approach an AR object.
Do not enter unsafe areas when attempting to reach AR objects. The safety of any given location will depend on numerous factors including but not limited to:
  • Your abilities, awareness, and behavior
  • The time of day
  • The current and forecast weather conditions
  • Current conditions of roads, sidewalks, stairs, paths, and terrain
  • Vehicle, human, and animal traffic, behavior, and congestion
  • Construction
  • Emergency situations
  • Geopolitical events such as rioting or police or military presence
Be aware of potential fall, trip and bump hazards around you. Choose a safe route to approach AR objects, even if entering a dangerous area would be more convenient. If entering a dangerous area is the only way to approach an AR object, do not attempt to reach the object.
Never trespass on private property, enter a location outside its operating hours, or enter a location you do not have permission to access, even if doing so would be the most convenient or only way to approach an AR object.
Obey all laws, local rules, and traffic regulations. Pay attention to and obey all posted signs governing both motorized and non-motorized vehicles and pedestrians.
Never use an AR Walk experience while operating a vehicle.
Never use AR Walk experiences in situations that require your full attention or where distractions could put you or others in harm’s way. Situations or activities that may require your full attention could include crossing busy streets, supervising animals or children, or traveling on steep or uneven terrain.
Never use an AR Walk experience while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
