About
Fundraisers and Donations
As of October 31, 2023, we partner exclusively with PayPal Giving Fund for nonprofits in Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom, and the United States. All donations are irrevocable gifts to PPGF and can only be refunded in certain circumstances as outlined by PayPal Giving Fund’s Donation Refund Policy or when required by law.
You can raise money on Instagram for causes you care about.
How fundraisers work
You can create a nonprofit fundraiser that will live in your bio for 30 days. You can also choose to extend the fundraiser, hide it from your profile, or end the fundraiser early. While your fundraiser is active, you’ll be able to share the fundraiser on posts, in stories, or a live video.
How donations work
You can donate to benefiting nonprofits by:
  • Donating to a fundraiser shared on a post, story, live video or profile
  • Searching for the nonprofit on Instagram and donating to PayPal Giving Fund to benefit the nonprofit
  • Tapping a donation sticker on a story
You can also create donation stickers for your stories. Others who see your story or live video can tap the sticker to donate.
How donation payouts work
We partner exclusively with PayPal Giving Fund to receive donations and grant donated funds. Nonprofits do not have to be enrolled with PayPal Giving Fund to receive donated funds, however enrolled nonprofits will receive donated funds quicker.
Who can fundraise
To create a nonprofit fundraiser, your account will need to be in good standing and you’ll need to be in a country or region where nonprofit fundraising and donations are available.
Nonprofits on Instagram
The nonprofits on Instagram have been approved to use Facebook’s Fundraising Tools. Nonprofits must also create an Instagram Business account.
