How posts appear on Instagram hashtag pages
There are several factors that determine the order of posts you see on Instagram hashtag pages. These factors may include:
- When the post was shared.
- How others engage with the post.
- If content meets our Recommendation Guidelines.
When viewing a hashtag page, you can choose to filter the page between all top posts or top posts that were shared recently.
To view recently shared top posts:
Instagram app for Android and iPhone- From the hashtag page, tap Filter in the top right.

next to Recent top posts.
You can return to seeing all top posts by tapping Filter in the top right of the hashtag page and then tapping next to Top posts.

- If you add a hashtag to a post after it was shared, the photo or video will still appear on the hashtag page according to the time it was originally posted, not the time the hashtag was added to your post.
- We may remove posts in a hashtag page if people are using the hashtag to post content that goes against our Community Guidelines. Learn more about our Community Guidelines.
