How do I hide comments or message requests I don't want to see on Instagram?
There are two ways you can hide offensive comments and message requests you don’t want to see on Instagram.
Content that doesn’t go against our Community Guidelines, but may be inappropriate, offensive or bullying can be hidden from your comments and message requests. You can also create a list of words, phrases, numbers and emojis you want to hide.
Hide Offensive Content
Some offensive comments are filtered out or hidden automatically. This setting is on by default, but you can change it any time.
If you choose to hide offensive message requests, those messages will appear in a hidden requests folder. This setting is off by default, but you can change it any time.
To turn off hide comments or turn on hide message requests:
Instagram app for Android and iPhone:
  1. Tap instagram-user-profile or your profile picture in the bottom right to go to your profile.
  2. Tap three lines stacked on top of each other in the top right, then tap a symbol circle gearSettings.
  3. Tap Privacy, then tap Hidden Words.
