Ad Partners on Instagram
Ad partners are businesses, organizations or people who share information with Meta through our marketing and advertising business tools.
Why ad partners send us information about your activity with them
To show you more relevant ads, we receive and use data that advertisers and other partners provide to us about your activity on their websites and apps, as well as some of your offline interactions, such as purchases.
For example, if you interact with ad partners outside of Instagram, Facebook, and other Meta technologies in some way, like visiting their website, using their apps, or shopping with them online or in person, they can let us know about that activity. You can choose whether we use this information to show you ads in your activity information from ad partners setting.
Here are some examples of the kinds of ad partners who send us this information:
  • Retailers, including online shops and local stores you may have visited
  • News and information sites
  • Financial services, like banks or credit card providers
  • Insurance companies
  • Creators of the apps, games or content that you use
  • Other businesses or nonprofits you may have interacted with
Other information ad partners send to us
Activity information isn’t the only kind of information ad partners send to us that can be used to show you ads. Ad partners can also share customer or user lists with us. For example, you may have signed up to receive emails from a business. That business may then send us a list of customers who signed up, which can be used to show you ads.
Note: We don’t share any information with advertisers that by itself can be used to contact or identify you, such as your name or email address, unless you give us permission. To learn more about the information Meta receives from ad partners and how we use it, visit our Privacy Policy.
