About Advertiser-Friendly Content

When you monetize content on Instagram, you are giving brands the ability to promote themselves within the videos you create. Advertisers have the ability to automatically prevent their ads from appearing within content we have flagged as being risky to various degrees.

This means that content which meets our Community Guidelines and Partner Monetization Policies may still only be valuable to a small number of advertisers. If that happens, you will likely have fewer ads placed in your content and may earn less money overall.

Some subjects are particularly sensitive to advertisers. The examples below are given ratings to demonstrate how likely your content would be to receive ads from the largest number of advertisers.

Ratings
  • OK for almost all advertisers (Mild): Your content is available to the largest number of advertisers because it isn't likely to be filtered out by brands.
  • OK for most advertisers (Moderate): Your content is available to fewer advertisers because it's likely to be filtered out by some brands, which can impact your earnings.
  • OK for very few advertisers (Severe): Your content isn't available to most advertisers because it's likely to be filtered out by most brands, which can severely impact your earnings.
  • Blocked: Your content won't be available to any advertisers and can't be monetized.
