About Instagram Ads
Ads look similar to organic posts and Stories but have a few differences.
  • Ads have a Sponsored label beneath the handle in the corner.
  • Ads may include a call-to-action button at the bottom of the ad, if one was added when the ad was originally created.
  • Ads can be vertical or horizontal on Instagram.
Here's an example of what an ad looks like on Instagram:
When you boost on Instagram, your ad will appear in people's Feed, Stories and their Explore tab. If you want your ad to only appear in one placement, you'll need to create your ad in Ads Manager.
