Keep your account secure when you use digital collectibles on Instagram
Digital collectibles are unique digital items that you can share on Instagram. Blockchain technology is used to record who owns them.
Some features are being tested and aren’t available to everyone.
We work hard to keep Instagram a safe and enjoyable place for everyone. This is why we provide tools to help keep your account secure when you connect your digital wallet and share, create, buy and sell digital collectibles on Instagram.

Use our security features

  • Turn on two-factor authentication for additional account security.
  • Turn on login requests to receive alerts whenever someone tries to access your account.
  • Revoke access to any suspicious third-party apps.
  • Create a strong password with a combination of at least six numbers, letters, and special characters to avoid repetition.
  • Change your password regularly, especially if you see a message from Instagram asking you to do so. During automated security checks, Instagram sometimes recovers login information that was stolen from other websites. If Instagram detects that your password may have been stolen, we recommend changing your password to help keep your account secure.
Instagram will never communicate with you through Direct Messaging. Official Instagram messages about account security will only be sent to your email address. Learn how to review recent emails sent from Instagram.

Never share your Instagram account information

  • Never share your Instagram password.
  • Log out of Instagram when using a computer you share with other people.

Never share your digital wallet information

  • Never share your digital wallet’s secret recovery phrase or private key.
  • Control who can tag you in digital collectible posts by adjusting your privacy settings.

Report scammers and suspicious activity

Please be cautious of scams on third-party marketplaces and other places as well.
