Enable Bonuses on Instagram
This product or feature may not be available to you yet.
You can earn money directly from Instagram through Bonuses. If you qualify to earn a bonus, you’ll be notified in the Instagram App to set up and enable bonus payouts.
Before you begin
  • You’ll receive a notification to set up bonuses on the professional dashboard if you’re an eligible creator.
  • You must have a professional (business or creator) profile to access the professional dashboard at the top of your profile.
  • Branded content is currently ineligible for bonuses.
Set up bonuses
To set up bonuses on the professional dashboard:
  1. Go to the Instagram App.
  2. Review and accept the Terms.
  3. Select your country and business type (Individual or Business Owner) and then click Next. You can also skip this step.
    Note: If you’re a business owner, the next page will ask you to confirm you are the legal owner. Enter your legal and tax information.
  4. Add a payout method, and then click Next. You can also skip this step.
  5. Review the description of the available bonus (or bonuses if applicable), and then tap Activate bonus.
    Note: As more bonuses become available, you can also go back to the professional dashboard and select Bonuses to set up.
  6. Tap Done.
After you set up your bonus, you must select a bonus opportunity before sharing new content, in order for it to count towards your earnings.
If you skip the steps to fill out your business or payout info, you’ll need to provide this information later to receive your first payout.
You must add a payout account to receive a bonus payout. If you don’t add a payout account:
  • Within 5 months or if you exceed earnings of $500, you’ll no longer be able to monetize with bonuses.
  • Within 6 months, you’ll forfeit and waive all rights to receive your payment.
Follow these steps to set up your payout account.
Enable bonuses
To select a piece of content for a bonus at the time of creation
  1. Select Bonuses.
  2. Choose the bonus you are applying to the piece of content.
    1. If relevant, you can tap the toggle on switch on to Also Share to Feed.

      Note: For branded content, make sure you select None. Branded content is ineligible to receive a bonus and you are required to use the paid partnership label.
  3. Tap Done and then Share.
If you’ve published content without selecting a bonus, you can apply the bonus within 24 hours (unless otherwise stated in the relevant program rules).
To select a piece of content for a bonus that was previously published
  1. Select Edit and then Bonuses.
  2. Choose the bonus you are applying to the piece of content.
  3. Tap Done.
