Show that you're currently active in a chat on Instagram
When the Show When You're Active Together setting is on, you and others in the same chat can see if you’re currently active together on Instagram. Note that this setting is only available if your Activity Status is on.
To show that you’re active in a chat at the same time as other people:
Instagram app for Android and iPhone- Tap
or your profile picture in the bottom right to go to your profile.
- Tap
in the top right.
- Below How others can interact with you, tap Messages and story replies.
- Tap Show activity status.
- Tap
or
next to Show when you're active together to turn this setting on or off.
You can choose to turn off Show When You're Active Together and still keep Activity Status on. If you turn off Show When You’re Active Together and keep your Activity Status on, accounts you message won’t see if you’re active in the same chat, but will see if you’re on Instagram.
Keep in mind that turning off your Activity status automatically turns off the Show When You're Active Together setting, too. No one can see if you’re active on Instagram or in the same chat when these are off.
