Report a technical problem on Instagram
If you notice something on Instagram isn't working correctly, like a broken feature or a technical problem, try updating the app. If it’s still not working after updating, you can report it to us.
Make sure to include as much detail about the problem as possible in your report. Information like the kind of phone or tablet you were using, what you were doing when the problem occurred and adding a screenshot may help us address the issue.
Shake your phone reporting
Instagram app for Android and iPhone
From the Instagram app:
  1. Shake your phone to see the reporting menu.
  2. Tap Report a problem then follow the on-screen instructions.
To turn shake your phone reporting on or off:
  1. Shake your phone to see the reporting menu.
  2. Tap switch off next to Shake phone to report a problem to turn shake your phone reporting on or switch on to turn it off.
Report through settings
To report something that's not working through settings:
Instagram app for Android and iPhone
  1. Tap profile or your profile picture in the bottom right to go to your profile.
  2. Tap more options in the top right.
  3. Below More info and support, tap Help.
  4. Tap Report a Problem.
  5. From here you can choose to go back to where you saw the problem and shake your phone to report the issue, or you can tap Report problem without shaking.
  6. Follow the on-screen instructions.
Instagram Lite app for Android
  1. Tap profile or your profile picture in the bottom right to go to your profile.
  2. Tap more options in the top right, then tap settingsSettings.
  3. Tap Help, then tap Report a problem.
  4. Tap Report technical problem, then follow the on-screen instructions.

  1. Tap your profile picture in the bottom right to go to your profile.
  2. Tap settings at the top.
  3. Tap Report a problem.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions.
Instagram.com from a computer
  1. Click your profile picture on the left to go to your profile.
  2. Click menuMore in the bottom left, then click Report a problem.
  3. Briefly explain what happened.
  4. Tap Add File to attach a screenshot, then tap Send report.
Reporting issues when they happen helps make Instagram better, and we appreciate the time it takes to give us this information.
If you want to report something else or fix a different issue:
Note: Information about your device and Instagram account related to the issue you’re reporting will be automatically included in this report in order to help us understand and resolve the error, flaw, failure or other issue reported.
You can further help us fix this problem by tapping Include Complete Logs and Diagnostics when you send your report. This includes information such as user activity logs, network logs, crash logs and memory dumps associated with the user’s account. You may also choose to attach a bug description, screenshot, or video in your report. Please do not attach any unnecessary or irrelevant content in your report.
We will store the information in your report and other reports like it only for as long as required to resolve the issue you are reporting. We will not use the information in your report for other purposes. Your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States.
