How to see previews of posts, stories and reels in your end-to-end encrypted chats on Instagram
When you send or receive a chat on Instagram, you may see an automatic preview of Instagram content like posts, stories and reels from public accounts.
To enable automatic previews, Meta uses limited information (such as a link to the post, story, reel, or sticker) without linking it to identifiers like your name or phone number.
You can also turn off automatic previews on Instagram at any time.
How to turn automatic previews on or off
- Tap
or your profile picture in the bottom right to go to your profile.
- Tap
in the top right.
- Tap Messages and story replies, then select Automatic previews.
- Tap to turn automatic previews on or off on your device.
